Love-Hate Relationship
There are these things I just can’t help having a love-hate relationship with. They make life fun, but sometimes also unnecessarily complicated.
Take airplanes. Fantastic, really. In just three hours I’m back in the Netherlands with my family. But those endless check-in queues, the delays, wandering through terminals like an extra in a bad movie… and then hoping your suitcase actually made the trip. Super handy, yet super annoying.
Or wine. Tasty, cozy, sometimes exactly what you need when you’re half asleep but still have to push through. But yeah… healthy? Not exactly. And then you sit there again: stop or just one more glass? Hate and love in a single sip.
And then women. Beautiful, warm, special – and at the same time, for us men, sometimes completely impossible to understand. Something with Mars, Venus, Pluto, and a few more planets I didn’t even know existed.
Dining out is another one. I love restaurants: the atmosphere, the ease, the new flavors. But when you still don’t have your starter after 45 minutes, you secretly think: I should’ve just cooked a simple pasta at home.
Life is full of these little tensions. Maybe that’s exactly what makes it all so fun.
