Never Being Afraid Again
What would it mean to you to never be afraid again? In my parents' bookshelf, there was a book by a Dutch author titled, "Never Being Afraid Again." My mother loved to read and had many books, but as a child, this book always stood out to me.
When you're no longer afraid, you tend to make better choices.
From my good friend Marlies, I learned to think like this: "What's the worst that could happen?" This mindset makes many decisions that seem scary much easier. For example, starting your own business, moving to another country, or getting married again.
Life is a celebration, but as I heard someone say on the beach recently, "You have to hang the decorations yourself," and that's exactly it. Carpe diem.
In this world where fear often accompanies us, the thought of never being afraid again is like a refreshing sea breeze on a hot summer day. It opens doors to adventure and opportunities that might otherwise remain closed. It encourages us to take the leap, despite the butterflies in our stomachs.
So, let's, like that unknown beachgoer, hang up the decorations of life and seize the day. Let fear no longer be the director of our life story, but let us be the leading actors, with courage and determination as our companions. Who knows what beautiful adventures await us when we are never afraid again.
