A Terra Restaurant, nestled amidst the peaceful Algarve countryside, near Moncarapacho and Estoi, is a true hidden gem. Everything here exudes a unique and relaxed charm, creating a genuine oasis of tranquility.
Upon arrival, you're welcomed into a spacious circular hall with a central fireplace and cozy seating all around, beautifully decorated in white.
The inspiration for the dishes stems from the local nature and a return to our roots. Whether you're a fan of seafood, a meat lover, or a vegan, you'll discover a delightful array of options. What truly sets the experience apart is the use of locally sourced ingredients, including olive oil, figs, carob, oranges, and even herbs from their own garden.

The Serre Restaurant offers an intimate atmosphere with 18 tables and a semi-open kitchen. During the summer, you can also enjoy a romantic dinner in the garden, which is a fantastic experience. As for prices, while the hotel rooms at Vila Monte can be pricey, the restaurant prices are very reasonable.
With a wide selection of tapas dishes and various main courses (starting from 14.50), there's something for everyone, including many vegetarian and vegan options.
What distinguishes A Terra is the heartwarming atmosphere it offers. Dining beneath centuries-old trees in their garden feels like a journey back in time to a simpler era. The ambiance is inviting, reminiscent of Vila Joya, yet the prices are surprisingly affordable. The staff is exceptionally well-trained, knowledgeable about the menu and wines, and refreshingly unpretentious, unlike some Michelin restaurants.
Don't miss out on this hidden gem! It's unquestionably a must-visit in the Algarve.

I wish the food preparation and taste kept stride…but, alas, I found it only “okay”. In fairness to the kitchen, my comment is based on only one event and perhaps it was an off night.
