D’alena Portuguese Restaurante: A Hidden Gem in the Loule Hills

D’alena Portuguese Restaurante is a breathtaking mountain restaurant, located 220 meters above sea level, yet only 8 minutes away from the bustling Mar Shopping Center and Ikea.

Loule Hills, situated near the town of Loulé in the Algarve, offers a picturesque setting with rolling hills and rural landscapes. A peaceful place that provides a perfect backdrop for this charming restaurant.

Chef António Tavares and host João, formerly working at the renowned Tia Bia restaurant, opened their own restaurant just a month ago. Upon arrival, guests can easily park in the parking lot in front of the door and are greeted with a small terrace.

Chef António Tavares delights the taste buds with his exquisite dishes. From Portuguese fish and meat dishes to vegan options upon request, there is something for everyone. The prices are surprisingly friendly, making a gourmet experience accessible to all.

During our Sunday lunch, we enjoyed a flavorful vegetable soup (only 3.50 euros for a generous bowl), followed by a delicious mushroom risotto (only 10 euros) and a refreshing fruit salad (also 3.50 euros). We accompanied our meal with a delightful Portuguese Chardonnay, the Freixa Chardonnay Alentejo (25 euros), and ended with a cup of coffee for only 0.90 euros.

Host João embodies hospitality, attentive and caring to every guest. His warm welcome made our stay all the more enjoyable.

While the restaurant is still in its infancy, a more atmospheric decor could enhance the overall experience. Additionally, adding vegetarian and vegan options would increase the menu's diversity and appeal to more guests.

D’alena Portuguese Restaurante is open from Tuesday to Saturday, from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM and from 7:00 PM to 9:30 PM, and on Sunday from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM.

Our experience at D’alena Portuguese Restaurante was excellent! A stunning view, exquisite food, and exceptionally friendly service make this restaurant a must-visit. We look forward to our next visit to this hidden gem in the Loule Hills! 🌟🍽️🥂
