La Forchetta: Italian Restaurant in Faro with a Charming Terrace
La Forchetta, situated in one of Faro's liveliest streets, near the harbor, offers a delightful Italian dining experience. While the restaurant indoors may be on the smaller side and lacks the most atmospheric ambiance, the spacious and inviting terrace more than makes up for it.
The menu is rich with delicious appetizers, including bruschetta, salads, carpaccio, and parmigiana.
However, the true stars of the show are the pizzas and pastas, available starting from €11.99.
What sets La Forchetta apart is their offering of gluten-free and vegan pizzas, which is not yet widely available.
The food is authentically Italian and delightful, although it may take a bit longer as everything is prepared fresh. The open kitchen adds to a lively atmosphere.
While the interior could be cozier, the friendly staff more than compensates with their warm smiles and helpfulness. My wife, who is gluten intolerant, was pleased to find that all pasta dishes can be made gluten-free, which is a significant plus.
La Forchetta is a family-owned business, run by a mother and daughter. The name "The Fork" for an Italian restaurant is a clever choice because it immediately evokes associations with delicious food and a cozy dining experience. It's an accessible choice without too much fuss, just as you'd want in an Italian restaurant. If you're visiting Faro and craving Italian cuisine, La Forchetta is definitely a recommendation.
