Welcoming reception, with aperitif by the fireplace / bar. Romantic atmosphere. Exactly what my ideal restaurant looks like.
Romantic atmosphere, inside and outside, beautiful pation (where you can eat in the summer), earth tones. A bit classic and French, but not stiff. Just fine. Cozy, despite the rain that falls, which is rare here..
This restaurant has been around for more than 25 years and has a well-deserved Michelin mention.
The daughter has taken over the business from her parents. She is a perfect hostess.
Valentim Carmo is a great chef, who can not only make traditional dishes, but can also conjure up vegetarian and vegan dishes.
The staff, who have been here for a long time, are very nice and professional, but not stiff. They also have humour.
It is a nice menu with delicious vegetarian options for starter, main course and dessert, which can also be made vegan on request.
Mains are between 20 and 31 euro. Romantic tasting menu for 85,-.
My dinner starts with tasty warm rolls and olive oil, followed by a delicious amuse-bouche of green asparagus
A beautiful main course, an extensive vegetable dish, delicious!
And as last course.. possibly the best dessert I've ever had. 3 flavors of vegan sorbet ice cream, with fresh fruit, yum!
PS too bad they only do dinner,.. I would like to become a regular lunch guest for the beautiful summer days on the fantastic patio..
