Restaurant & Cocktail Bar Monte do Mar is a true hidden gem on the edge of Monte Carvoeiro. This beautiful old quinta offers two cozy terraces where you can enjoy delicious cocktails, a bar, and a restaurant. It feels like you are in a serene oasis, far away from the hustle and bustle of the new development. The location is ideal: just a five-minute walk from both the village and the beach Praia da Carvoeiro.

The team at Monte do Mar is super friendly and goes out of their way to make you feel welcome. The Portuguese owner gave us a warm welcome, and our waiter, Bernardo, spoke Portuguese, English, and Dutch. The service was exceptionally quick and accommodating, making us feel right at home.
Monte Carvoeiro is a small, charming dining area with various restaurants like Black Salt and Square, and there's often live music. Monte do Mar is perfectly located on a corner, where it's generally quieter than the bustling center of Carvoeiro.
We started our evening with a delightful gin and tonic, perfectly paired with French fries as a snack. The menu also offers various delicious dishes, including four vegetarian options. Although we haven't tried everything yet, we'll definitely be back to explore the food!
Monte do Mar offers a lovely, peaceful patio garden, cheap and tasty cocktails, excellent service, and a friendly owner. A visit to this restaurant is absolutely worth it! 🍹🍴
